On April 26, 2016, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the USAID EMPOWER Credit Support (ECS) Program, and the Government of Kosovo officially launched the Kosovo Credit Guarantee Fund (KCGF). KCGF is established as a permanent, revolving credit guarantee fund, licensed and supervised by the Central Bank of Kosovo. KCGF is designed to issue loan guarantees to commercial banks to reduce risk in MSME lending. KCGF will be capitalized with funding from USAID, KfW – the German Development Agency, and the Government of Kosovo. Crimson supports ECS and the KCGF through a subcontract to Financial Markets International Inc.
