Afghanistan: Crimson Supports Development of Insurance Industry

As part of the USAID-funded Financial Access for Investing in the Development of Afghanistan (FAIDA) project, Crimson experts provided support for the creation of a local Insurance Association. The Association is designed to represent the interests of the insurance industry, increase public awareness of insurance, build member capacity and lobby for change to support the overall growth of the insurance market.

Crimson-provided technical assistance included reviewing relevant laws and regulations, developing the Association’s by-laws, organizational chart, job descriptions and operational procedures manual. Support was also provided for marketing activity and membership planning and developing the Association’s strategic plan and annual budget.

Additionally Crimson experts worked with Association counterparts to design and deliver a comprehensive program of training for important industry stakeholders covering: Regulatory Compliance; Governance and Ethics; Insurer Management; and training programs on a range of key insurance products.
